Control rooms have been set up at the Election Commission headquarters in Islamabad and Lahore to monitor the by-elections in six National Assembly and seven Punjab Assembly constituencies on Sunday.
The control room in Islamabad is being supervised by Additional Director General Haroon Shinwari.
Meanwhile, a spokesperson for the Punjab Election Commissioner said polling has been underway at all stations under strict security arrangements.
He said citizens should visit polling stations without fear and exercise their right to vote, adding that disabled persons, pregnant women, senior citizens, and transgender persons will be given priority in casting their votes.
According to the spokesperson, mobile phones are not allowed inside polling stations. Citizens must maintain the secrecy of their vote and avoid taking photos of the ballot paper.
