On Wednesday, PTI finally agreed to meet with the government to resolve their differences, contingent upon the release of imprisoned founder and former prime minister Imran Khan. Previously, the party and its leader had consistently refused dialogue, branding the incumbent government as ‘thieves and dacoits.’
PTI Member of National Assembly (MNA) Ali Muhammad Khan addressed the National Assembly on Wednesday, stating that discussions would be held if Imran Khan was released from jail along with Nawaz Sharif. He confirmed that PTI’s opposition leader Mehmood Achakzai had received an invitation for dialogue and declared his support for such talks.
While earlier the opposition had announced its absence from NA proceedings to protest Imran’s imprisonment, they later witnessed the NA sessions during the Chinese delegation visit. The Chinese delegation was led by Vice Chairman of the Standing Committee of the National People’s Congress Cai Dafeng and China’s ambassador to Pakistan Jiang Zaidong.
