The government offered another olive branch to the opposition, inviting them for consultations on critical national issues amid claims of unfulfilled promises.
Law Minister Azam Nazeer Tarar addressed the National Assembly (NA), stating that he had extended this invitation on behalf of the government, following criticism from the opposition regarding their failure to deliver.
The minister highlighted a constitutional restriction preventing convicted individuals like Imran Khan from participating in political activities. He also acknowledged the recent election results in Gilgit-Baltistan and invited the opposition to provide evidence if allegations of rigging are substantiated.
Meanwhile, Minister for Parliamentary Affairs Tariq Fazal Chaudhry addressed concerns about the treatment of prisoners abroad, noting that Pakistani missions offer support including legal assistance and regular visits to jails.
