Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif stated that the peace deal between Iran and the United States is expected to be finalised within the next day. He mentioned a ‘final, agreed-upon’ text of the deal had been reached a day prior, with Pakistan working closely with both sides on the process.
Sharif highlighted Pakistan’s readiness for the electronic signing of the peace deal and subsequent technical-level talks. He also expressed thanks to the United States and Islamic Republic of Iran for their ongoing commitment during negotiations, extending appreciation to regional allies as well.
The prime minister noted that they are closer to a historic peace deal than ever before. Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi referred to the potential agreement as the ‘Islamabad Memorandum of Understanding’, urging caution in speculation until finalisation is achieved.
