During the 28th session of the National Assembly focused on the budget, 90 out of 150 members (or 30%) attended every single sitting. In contrast, only six members (less than 2%) missed all sessions.
A Free and Fair Election Network report revealed that the highest attendance was recorded during the 13th sitting, which took place on June 18, where 75% of attendees voted on grant demands and reviewed a budget committee’s recommendations for FY27. Among those who were present, around 300 members participated.
According to Fafen’s findings, only around 234 out of the total 333 attending members missed at least one session, equating to about 70%. The lowest attendance was noted for Communications Minister Aleem Khan, who was present in eight sessions. Amongst parliamentary party leaders, PML-N’s Khawaja Asif and Hameed Hussain (MWM) of Majlis Wahdat-i-Muslimeen were among the most diligent attendees.
Out of the 10 cabinet members scheduled for Question Hour, six attended the session, highlighting a high level of engagement. In total, out of 75 independent members, including those sitting on government benches, 27 members attended all sittings.
The report also found that female lawmakers showed higher attendance rates compared to their male counterparts across every single session. The distribution by region indicated Punjab had the highest number of “perfect attendance” members (53), followed closely by Khyber Pakhtunkhwa with 25 attendees. Six lawmakers from Punjab were noted for skipping all sessions.
