QUETTA: Inspector General of Police Balochistan Muhammad Tahir said on Saturday maintaining law and order and the protection of life and property is the “prime responsibility” of the police, pledging to utilise all available resources to fulfil this duty.
Presiding over a meeting of all range police officers at the Central Police Office, the IGP said that all attention is being given to police training to make the force capable of fighting against “terrorism and criminal elements” and to provide a peaceful environment to the people of Balochistan. “The police force must adopt modern technology and take effective measures to curb crime,” he said.
The IGP directed the officers to further improve security arrangements in their respective areas and ensure the protection of the public by all possible means. He said that to maintain peace and order, all police officers must perform their responsibilities diligently and “ensure a prompt response in any emergency situation.”
During the meeting, senior police officers provided a detailed briefing to the IGP about the overall law and order situation.
