Following last week’s substantial reductions in petrol and high-speed diesel (HSD) prices, announced to pass on benefits from declining international oil prices, the government has decided to keep these rates unchanged for the coming fortnight. The decision was made public through a notification issued by the Petroleum Division.
This comes after Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif highlighted the positive effects of lower global oil prices and emphasized that these adjustments aim at easing financial burdens on various sectors of society, particularly those reliant on petrol and diesel for their operations.
As the international energy market continues to experience fluctuations due to geopolitical tensions in the Strait of Hormuz, the government has established a routine practice of adjusting petroleum prices every Friday. This latest decision ensures stability in fuel costs during this period of global economic uncertainties.
