The vice chancellor and pro-vice chancellor of Gwadar University reached their homes safely, ten days after they were reported missing. An official statement confirmed that all four individuals— including the vice chancellor and pro-vice chancellor —had returned home without any incidents.
Further updates from an aide at the Balochistan Home Department indicated that Mullah Barkat Baloch, a relative of Pro-Vice Chancellor Manzoor, also confirmed their safe arrival. Sources revealed that Vice Chancellor Dr Abdul Razzaq Sabir, Pro-Vice Chancellor Syed Manzoor Ahmed, their staff officer Irshad Ahmed, and driver Hatim Ali were freed in the Kardgap area of Mastung.
The individuals had gone missing on May 13 while traveling from Gwadar to Quetta. Their mobile phones had been switched off, making it difficult for them to be traced. Authorities believed they might have been kidnapped, leading to a search operation by security forces that culminated in their safe recovery.
