Condemnations flooded in after a suicide attack claimed more than ten lives and injured several others on a shuttle train in Quetta, Pakistan. The horrific scene included a mangled train carriage with people scrambling to rescue survivors. Security personnel guarded the site while debris littered the ground alongside the railway track.
President Asif Ali Zardari and Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif voiced their support against terrorism, reaffirming their resolve to combat it. Other international actors, including the Chinese embassy in Pakistan and UK High Commissioner Jane Mariott, also expressed their solidarity with Pakistan by extending condolences and condemning the attack.
Additionally, the Russian and Turkish foreign ministries condemned the act of terror, pledging support for Pakistan’s fight against terrorism. They wished for swift justice to be served on those responsible for such heinous acts targeting innocent civilians.
