A Sindh Chief Minister has ordered stringent measures against those responsible for gouging out the eyes of a female camel, following allegations of severe torture in a village within the Tharparkar region.
The chief minister described the incident as an inhumane act and demanded immediate veterinary care for the injured animal. He also instructed local authorities to investigate and prosecute the culprits, including requesting reports from the Mirpurkhas DIG and urging area police to take action.
Camel owner Sarang Neelo Meghwar reported that a group of Rind community members attacked his camel without reason, causing it to suffer severe beatings before gouging out both its eyes. The incident reportedly left the animal in a state of distress and prompted widespread social media outrage and civil society protests.
