Three paramilitary personnel from the Sindh Rangers were killed and three terrorists were slain during an attack on their local headquarters in Karachi’s Gulistan-i-Jauhar area. The province’s police chief, Javed Alam Odho, told Dawn that no explosion had occurred initially but confirmed a vehicle rammed the main gate. A mop-up operation is ongoing with special security units like the Special Security Unit (SSU) commandos and Anti-Terrorist Force (ATF) present in the area.
A rangers trooper was brought to the hospital after sustaining gunshot wounds, while reports suggest that law enforcement personnel arrived swiftly upon receiving heavy firing and explosion alerts. Emergency services dispatched from Rescue 1122 Sindh responded immediately with their central command and control team to assist at the scene. The incident also attracted attention from local officials including the Chief Minister of Sindh.
