The government today slashed the price of petrol by Rs4 per litre to reach Rs373.78 from Rs377.78, while diesel was cut by Rs2 per litre to stand at Rs378.78 from Rs380.78.
Following this reduction, which took effect immediately, the cumulative decrease in petrol prices now totals Rs41 over five consecutive weeks.
This decision comes amidst a series of weekly price cuts on petroleum products due to ongoing tensions with Iran following the US-Israeli conflict that began on February 28.
