Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Mojtaba Khamenei emphasized on Sunday the necessity of pursuing legal cases against the United States and Israel regarding “child killings and war crimes” that have occurred within Iran. This statement comes from a message shared by Khamenei on his official X account, following his appointment as supreme leader in March 2023. The message referenced past attacks on Ayatollah Mohammad Beheshti, who was the then-Iranian judiciary chief.
Khamenei’s remarks highlighted two wars: a brief conflict with Israel in 2025 and another that began with US-Israeli strikes against Iran late last year. He stated that each war inflicted physical and psychological damage on Iranians, including child killings in Minab and Lamerd, and attacks on medical facilities. Khamenei also mentioned the “murder” of newborns and the elderly, as well as the assassination of his predecessor Ayatollah Ali Khamenei.
He stressed that these acts are a significant part of thousands of legal cases that must be pursued in both domestic and international courts. Khamenei called on the leaders of US-Zionist entities to admit their crimes through confessions, which he considers an acknowledgment of guilt, thus facilitating the vindication of Iran’s rights.
He stressed that investigations into wartime crimes should continue until a verdict is reached, underscoring the importance of accountability and justice for these atrocities committed within Iranian borders.
