The National Cyber Crime Investigation Agency (NCCIA) has increased its focus on complaints regarding harassment and blackmail of women in digital spaces. Ten individuals were arrested for their alleged involvement in these offenses in different parts of Punjab.
NCCIA Chief Muhammad Ali Waseem stated that the agency is treating such cases with the highest priority to ensure swift action against perpetrators. The chief added that psychological, social, and reputational harm caused by online harassment can be severe, prompting NCCIA to allocate dedicated resources for these complaints.
Arrests were made in Lahore, Multan, and Faisalabad where individuals were found guilty of harassing women online, blackmailing them, and using objectionable content against victims. Mobile phones, digital evidence, and other related devices were seized from suspects for forensic examination.
