Rising prices and political divisions have intensified in Washington as inflation reaches a new high, with Democrats accusing the administration of worsening economic conditions through its Iran policy and trade agenda.
Recent data showing a May inflation rate at 4.2% contrasts sharply with wage growth of 3.4%, raising concerns about real income erosion amid rising living costs. Senator Chuck Schumer highlighted this issue in a social media post, criticizing the administration’s handling of both economy and foreign policy, referring to it as ‘Trumpflation’.
Economist Heather Long added that inflation is outpacing wage gains significantly. Senator Jeanne Shaheen blamed President Trump for breaking his campaign promises on war and economic stability by starting a conflict with Iran, leading to higher gas prices and ongoing inflation.
