The National Accountability Bureau (NAB) has unveiled an artificial intelligence-based investigation system, termed as Pakistan’s first sovereign generative AI-powered platform. Chairman Dr Yasar Ayaz highlighted its significance in digital transformation and institutional modernization.
Ayaz stated that the system is a state-of-the-art tool designed to investigate white-collar crimes through advanced AI technology. The initiative underscores Pakistan’s ability to develop indigenous AI solutions aligned with national requirements, ensuring data sovereignty and maintaining institutional ownership. The new platform promises to enhance investigation speed, accuracy, and effectiveness in handling financial crimes and complex offenses.
By supporting evidence-based decision-making and bolstering institutional accountability, the system aims to contribute to NAB’s ongoing reform agenda. A meeting was held under the supervision of NAB Director General Waqar Ahmed Chauhan, where experts from the National Centre for Artificial Intelligence (NCAI) showcased the AI platform’s capabilities.
